Therapy for Depression

Life presents us with a fair share of challenges, losses and struggles. It is a normal reaction to feel lonely, sad, or depressed under such circumstances. When these feelings become overwhelming, long lasting and cause physical symptoms, they likely interfere with our ability to lead a productive normal life.

Common symptoms of depression include:

  • Sadness
  • Pessimism
  • Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness
  • Feelings of guilt and worthlessness
  • Loss of interest in activities and things you once found to be pleasurable
  • Inability to feel joy
  • Restlessness, irritability, feeling anxious
  • Thoughts of death or suicide
  • Fatigue and little energy
  • Insomnia, early morning waking, or sleeping too much
  • Loss of appetite or overeating, weight loss or weight gain
  • Digestive problems
  • Headaches, back pain, and other aches and pains
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Difficulties remembering details

Do any of these thoughts enter your mind?

  • “I am worthless and I can’t do anything about it.”
  • “I hate who I am these days.”
  • “I can’t stop crying, which makes me want to stay away from others.”
  • “I feel gut wrenching pain, but no one understands.”
  • “My life and the world around me are dark. I hate it.”

If you have had any variation of these symptoms and thoughts and you don’t feel like your usual self, chances are you may be suffering from clinical depression.

I am here to offer you a warm and encouraging environment where you can speak candidly and receive care, compassion and guidance. If you would like to explore treatment options, please get in touch with me. I would be honored to walk with you on your journey. I am confident that I can help and invite you to contact me today so we can schedule an appointment.
